Zenith General Insurance Supports Lagos Orphanages

Zenith General Insurance Limited has donated food items and essential supplies to two orphanages in Lagos, Heritage Homes and Children Anchor Orphanage Home, as part of its corporate social responsibility.

In a statement made available to the press the firm said the donations reaffirmed its commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children in society.

During the visits, senior representatives from Zenith General Insurance emphasised the organisation’s dedication to giving back, aligning with their core values of empathy and community impact.

Senior Manager in charge of Head Office Marketing and the South-South branches, Edith Agu, stated that the initiative was designed to show the children that they are cared for and valued.

 “We want to show them that Zenith Insurance cares about them and that their well-being is important to us,” she said.

Agu also stressed the importance of sustained corporate support for community development despite economic challenges.

“Organisations should plan and makeg budgetary allocations for the improvement of their society through various corporate social vehicles,” Agu advised.

The supervisor of Children Anchor Orphanage Home, Mr. Olajide Bankole, during the visit, shared the home’s vision of creating a better future for orphans and abused and abandoned children.

He acknowledged the challenges of running an orphanage with over 35 children, relying largely on faith, online awareness, and kind-hearted donors.

“We are really grateful. We are not the only orphanage, but you chose Children Anchor Orphanage Home,” he said, referring to Zenith’s visit and supplies.

It was revealed that the Heritage Home had been established to provide a haven for children without families and to serve as a bridge between abandoned children and prospective caregivers.

Zenith’s representatives shared personal messages of encouragement during the visits.

Deputy Head of IT, Abimbola Sarumi, said the team came “to put an extra smile on the faces of our children, our tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Head of Internal Control and Audit at Zenith General Insurance, Muyiwa Aderibigbe, emphasised that their actions reflect the company’s values, particularly empathy. “This activity speaks to one of our core values. We want you to stay alive because, as our business is known for restoring hope, joy is coming,” he told the children and staff.

Aderibigbe added that while these are trying times for many businesses, “we urge other organisations to join this train of making an impact in society and touching people beyond just profit.”

As the visits concluded, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and renewed hope. Both orphanages expressed optimism for a continued partnership with Zenith General Insurance, a company that not only delivers on its business mandate but also embraces its responsibility to uplift the most vulnerable in society.
