In a move set to transform how Nigerians experience modern living, LG Electronics Nigeria and Ecobank Nigeria have announced a groundbreaking partnership that merges cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology with flexible financing solutions.

The collaboration, unveiled at the LG Smart TV AI Press Conference held at Ecobank’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Wednesday, is designed to make premium smart home technology both affordable and accessible to a wider range of consumers.

At the event, LG showcased its latest lineup of AI-powered Smart TVs, which include OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and UHD models driven by the company’s proprietary LG ThinQ AI platform.

This intelligent system learns user preferences, responds to voice commands, and seamlessly connects with other LG smart appliances.

The innovation underscores LG’s commitment to creating connected home environments that go beyond entertainment to enhance comfort, convenience, and efficiency.

To complement this technological leap, the company announced a strategic partnership with Ecobank Nigeria, which will enable customers to acquire LG Smart TVs and other home appliances through the bank’s Easy Monthly Instalment scheme. The flexible payment plan allows buyers to spread payments over an extended period, easing the financial burden of owning premium electronics.

Speaking at the launch, General Manager of Media Entertainment Solutions, TV Division at LG Electronics, Mr Choongbae Seok, highlighted the company’s mission to make innovation a seamless part of daily life.

“Our AI-powered products are designed to simplify living, enhance comfort, and create a connected lifestyle for our customers,” he said. “With AI at the heart of our innovation, LG continues to redefine what it means to live smart.”

On his part, Head of Distribution Channels and Sales at Ecobank Nigeria, Dr Adeola Ogunyemi, described the collaboration as a step toward democratising technology for Nigerians.

“We believe technology should be accessible to everyone, not just a select few,” Ogunyemi stated. “Our partnership with LG is a powerful step toward democratising smart living by offering flexible payment plans that put premium AI-powered devices within reach of more Nigerians.”

He added that the initiative aligns with Ecobank’s mission of promoting financial inclusion and improving the quality of life through innovative financial solutions.

“This collaboration goes beyond financing; it’s about empowering Nigerians to experience the future of living today,” Ogunyemi said. “As smart homes become the new norm, Ecobank is proud to support this transformation by providing convenient, affordable solutions that enhance daily living. Together with LG, we are making smart living not a luxury, but a reality.”

Beyond televisions, LG also showcased how its AI ecosystem spans other home appliance categories such as washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners. These devices communicate and adapt to user behaviour, creating a networked environment that promotes energy efficiency, convenience, and sustainability in households. The partnership announcement comes on the heels of LG’s remarkable success at the IFA 2025 Innovation Awards, where the company won 17 awards, including the coveted Best of IFA title. Among its winning innovations was the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV, the world’s first wireless transparent television, which earned accolades for Best in Home Entertainment. LG was also recognised in 16 other categories covering Mobility, Design, Smart Home, and Home Appliances — reaffirming its position as a global leader in innovation.
