The 17th edition of the Africa Bank 4.0 Summit (West Africa-2025) is set to be held in Lagos next week, with a special focus on the impact of artificial intelligence and real-time payments on the financial services space in the region.

The Summit, organised by BII, will be a gathering of banking and fintech leaders, uniting the continent’s most influential voices in financial innovation, regulation, and transformation, and will be held under the theme ‘Inclusion to Innovation: Charting a New Era of Financial Excellence in West Africa’.

Over 300+ senior-level executives will convene for two days of strategic dialogue, high-impact roundtable discussions, and cutting-edge technology showcases. It will also feature curated workshops and dedicated one-on-one networking engagements, designed to promote meaningful collaboration and knowledge exchange among leading banks, regulatory authorities, and fintech innovators.

The organisers said, “As West Africa’s financial ecosystem evolves at an accelerated pace propelled by artificial intelligence, real-time payments, regulatory advancements, and inclusive finance, this edition places a sharp focus on building secure, sustainable, and digitally empowered institutions.”

A significant highlight of the gathering is the recognition of excellence in the financial sector.

“A key highlight of the event is the award ceremony, combining the Africa Bank 4.0 Awards, West Africa and the AFSC Awards, an esteemed recognition of excellence in digital banking, financial innovation, and financial inclusion. The awards celebrate institutions and individuals whose outstanding contributions are actively shaping the future of finance and redefining the standards of excellence across the continent,” concluded the organisers.
