The 9th edition of the prestigious Tech Innovation Awards is set to recognise and celebrate Africa’s leading innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders driving digital transformation across the continent.

Organisers said in a statement on Tuesday that the awards ceremony will take place on November 29, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event will spotlight trailblazers in artificial intelligence, financial technology, agricultural technology, and sustainable solutions.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of InstinctWave Group, Akin Naphtal, organisers of the awards, “The Tech Innovation Awards have consistently served as a beacon for Africa’s digital economy.

Through this platform, groundbreaking ideas receive the recognition they deserve while fostering collaborations that scale startups, amplify under-represented voices, and attract investment into the continent’s tech ecosystem.”

The awards, organised in partnership with Digital Economy Magazine, are open to submissions from individuals, organisations, teams, and government entities operating across Africa.

Entries will be assessed through a rigorous merit-based selection process that honours innovations enhancing connectivity, promoting economic inclusion and supporting sustainable growth in line with Africa’s Agenda 2063.

TIA 2025 introduces dynamic award categories, including Best Bank in Sustainability, Innovative Renewable Energy Provider of the Year, Financial Inclusion Bank of the Year, Cross-border Fintech Solution Award, Technology Person of the Year, and Innovative Tech Delivery Company of the Year. Additional categories recognise achievements in digital infrastructure, AgriTech innovation, and transformative logistics solutions. According to Digital Economy Magazine, “TIA provides a platform to celebrate visionary leaders and organisations that are dismantling barriers to digital inclusion and economic empowerment in Africa. This edition will further cement Lagos as a hub of innovation and position Africa at the forefront of the global technology narrative.”
