The Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has renewed its call for submissions into the 2025 edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LAPRIGA), following an initial review of entries received so far.

According to the LAPRIGA Selection Committee, multiple entries have already been submitted across several categories; however, there remains significant underrepresentation in seven major award categories, with some fields recording only a single submission. The Committee is therefore urging practitioners, agencies, corporate organisations, and communication teams operating within Lagos’ PR ecosystem to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase their work.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Kehinde Oyesomi, Secretary of the Selection Committee, noted that while interest has been recorded in 14 award categories, many practitioners are yet to submit for others where numerous deserving projects exist.

“We currently have no entries in seven categories,” she said. “Our environmental analysis and scoping efforts reveal impressive campaigns and initiatives carried out by members during the year. These are clearly award-worthy but yet to be submitted. We encourage professionals not to rule themselves out. Enter – and you could win.”

The seven categories with no submissions to date include:

  • Public Sector Strategic Communication Leadership Award (Appointed Public Officer)
  • PR Trainer of the Year (Professional Development Award)
  • PR Educator of the Year
  • Model Agency of the Year
  • Public Sector PR Campaign of the Year
  • Public Sector Communication Professional of the Year
  • Evergreen/Lifetime Award

Chairman of the Lagos NIPR Chapter, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, expressed optimism that the chapter will experience the characteristic last-minute surge in entries but cautioned against delays.

“We expect the usual late rush, but we strongly advise prospects to submit now. There may not be an extension,” he warned.

The call for entries closes on 28 November 2025, while the LAPRIGA Awards Ceremony will hold on 12 December 2025, celebrating excellence, professionalism, and innovation within Nigeria’s leading PR market.

LAPRIGA remains the flagship awards platform recognising outstanding achievement and best-in-class practice in public relations, corporate communication, reputation management, and digital influence across Lagos State.
