Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Nigeria’s leading noodles brand, Indomie, has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to advancing education and teacher development with the successful hosting of the 16th Annual Teachers’ Seminar in Lagos.

Themed “Innovative Education: Integrating 21st-Century Skills as Learning Experiences into the Curriculum,” the highly attended event gathered thousands of educators at the University of Lagos for an immersive and interactive learning experience aimed at enhancing modern teaching competencies.

The one-day seminar, according to a statement, featured practical training sessions designed to equip teachers with the essential 21st-century skills—communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking—that are vital for effective classroom engagement and curriculum advancement in a fast-changing educational landscape.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Sunday Adeyemo, Professor of Science Education and Curriculum Studies at the University of Lagos, stressed the need for educators to embrace innovation and adapt to the evolving demands of modern teaching.

“Teaching has evolved, and our teachers must evolve with it. To achieve genuine progress in our education system, educators must adopt 21st-century skills and embrace digital tools that drive learning outcomes,” he stated.

Adeyemo’s remarks underscored the importance of digital literacy and innovative learning strategies as key drivers of Nigeria’s educational transformation.

The seminar also provided an engaging platform for teachers to network, share insights, and discuss emerging challenges within Nigeria’s education system. Participants, adorned in Indomie-branded shirts and caps, enjoyed a blend of cultural performances, interactive games, and tasty Indomie meals, creating a warm, lively, and inclusive atmosphere that reflected the brand’s connection to learning and community.

Speaking on the company’s continued investment in teacher development, Mr. Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods, reaffirmed the firm’s dedication to empowering educators as key agents of national progress.

“Teachers are the custodians of knowledge and must be empowered to remain globally competitive. Our goal is to support them as the government drives curriculum revitalization. This seminar reflects our deep belief in nurturing those who shape the future,” Ashiwaju said.

He emphasised that the company’s corporate social responsibility goes beyond feeding children—it extends to nurturing the educators who build the foundation of Nigeria’s human capital development.

Adding her voice, Olori Temitope Oloko of Iwaya Yaba Kingdom commended the initiative and lauded the enthusiasm of participating teachers.

“As a teacher myself, I’m inspired by the energy and passion in this hall. It’s uplifting to see Indomie leading such an impactful programme that celebrates and empowers educators,” she remarked.

Her comments drew applause from participants who described the seminar as both motivational and transformative.

Reflecting on the sustained impact of the programme, Mrs. Ogechukwu Faith Joshua, National Manager of the Indomie Fan Club, noted that the seminar has consistently strengthened teacher engagement and improved classroom delivery across Nigeria.

“For over 16 years, we’ve witnessed significant improvement in teacher engagement and classroom delivery. Empowering educators remains one of our most rewarding investments, as they directly influence the learning experiences of Nigerian children,” Joshua said.

At the close of the event, all participating teachers received Certificates of Participation, recognising their commitment to continuous professional growth and development. The ceremony ended on a high note, with educators expressing gratitude to Dufil Prima Foods for its sustained contribution to teacher empowerment and education advancement.
