Africa’s leading innovators, technology experts, and policymakers are set to converge at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, on November 25 for the highly anticipated InnTech Summit 2025. The summit, a high-level gathering designed to shape Africa’s future around artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and sustainability, promises to be a landmark event for the continent’s technological ecosystem.

Speaking ahead of the summit at a press conference in Abuja, Ahmed Mansur, Chairman of InnTech Summit, described the event as Africa’s flagship platform for innovation and digital transformation. He explained that the summit’s theme reflects the continent’s recognition that technology must be harnessed to drive economic growth, inclusion, resilience, and sustainability.

Mansur said, “Africa stands at a pivotal moment. We aim to create a space where ideas meet impact — where policymakers, business leaders, innovators, and academia translate Africa’s potential into measurable progress and shared prosperity. As AI, data, and digital innovation reshape societies globally, Africa must participate and shape the direction of this transformation.”

He disclosed that the summit has already garnered significant interest from institutional and private-sector partners, highlighting a shared commitment to building a trusted, inclusive, and sustainable digital future for the continent.

Convener of the summit and CEO of iCentra, Mr Taopheek Babayeju, added that the event would assemble Africa’s foremost leaders, innovators, and policymakers to advance purposeful innovation.

He noted that the keynote address would be delivered by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani. Special guests include Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, and Dr. Vincent Olatunji, National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

“InnTech Summit is Africa’s flagship platform for accelerating innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development,” Babayeju said. “Our mission is to connect ideas, people, and technology to drive shared prosperity. A major focus this year is Green Digital Africa and the governance structures needed around AI.”

He emphasised the critical role of collaboration between the government and the private sector in driving progress. “Government creates the policies, but the private sector drives the economy. That is why InnTech is so important,” he said.

Some partners echoed the summit’s strategic relevance. Mr Kayode Akinade, founder of Microvis MFB and chairman of Glovis Almond Group, described InnTech as timely. He said, “Ten years ago, the level of digital transformation was nowhere near what it is today. Now is the best time to be involved. We expect fresh insights that businesses can leverage through AI and digital communication to deepen market penetration.”

Mr Rex Abitogun, CEO of Management Edge and technical lead for the summit, added that the event is set to change the technology narrative across Africa. “With the rapid adoption of AI, I must stay ahead. From a technical standpoint, participants can expect the very best,” he said.

Other confirmed speakers include Niyi Yusuf (Verraki Partners), Tayo Aduloju (NESG), Hansatu Adegbite (UN Women), AbdulAziz Saidu (Cisco), Lola Adey (PIPA USA), Reuben Oshomah (Avanti), Oluseyi Lala (ipNX Business), Chukwuka Amadife (Fiducia International), and Stephen Ambore (Women’s World Banking).

The summit organisers emphasised that InnTech 2025 remains open to additional partnerships and participation from organisations committed to innovation, sustainability, and digital inclusion across Africa. ICentra promotes the event and aims to provide a collaborative platform where ideas, policies, and business initiatives converge to shape the continent’s digital economy and accelerate Africa’s adoption of transformative technologies.
