As the global automotive industry accelerates toward cleaner and more sustainable technologies, Jetour has unveiled its latest innovation—the X70 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)—a model that blends dynamic power, performance, and impressive fuel efficiency.

In a statement on Tuesday, the firm stated that the introduction of the Jetour X70 PHEV comes at a time when Nigerian motorists are increasingly conscious of rising fuel costs and the environmental impact of vehicle emissions.

According to the statement by Kemi Adeola of Jetour Nigeria, the launch aligns with the Federal Government’s green energy initiative, which aims to reduce carbon emissions from fossil fuel dependence and promote eco-friendly transportation alternatives.

“Jetour’s hybrid innovation offers drivers the flexibility to switch between petrol and electric power at will, saving fuel, cutting emissions, and reducing overall running costs,” the statement read.

The Jetour X70 Plug-in Hybrid distinguishes itself with a sophisticated blend of technology, safety, and comfort features that position it as a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment.

Among its safety highlights are driver, passenger, curtain, and rear airbags, as well as Hill-Start and Hill-Descent Assist Control, Electronic Parking Brake, and a 360-degree panoramic camera system for effortless parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.

Further enhancing driver confidence, the model incorporates Lane Departure Warning, Emergency and Collision Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Traffic Jam Assist. On the exterior, the SUV rides on stylish 19-inch alloy wheels and features an electronic gear-shifting system. It also provides five distinct driving modes—EV, HEV, Eco, Sport, and Normal—supported by Adaptive Cruise Control for a smooth, personalized driving experience.

Inside, the X70 offers a luxurious cabin designed for modern connectivity and comfort. It comes equipped with a 10.23-inch LCD touchscreen, wireless charging, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, voice command, and phone mirroring features. Passengers enjoy a panoramic roof, an air-purifying climate control system, and powered seats with heating and ventilation functions. To complete the premium experience, an eight-speaker Sony Hi-Fi audio system delivers rich, high-quality sound throughout the cabin.

Addressing concerns about charging convenience, the Jetour X70 Plug-in Hybrid supports multiple charging modes, including fast, slow, engine, and brake-force charging. In petrol mode, the engine automatically recharges the battery, ensuring seamless performance without range anxiety.

Under the hood, the X70 PHEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid engine, paired with a 19.43kWh battery and dual hybrid transmissions. This setup delivers strong performance while maintaining exceptional fuel economy and reduced emissions—underscoring Jetour’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

The statement further noted that Jetour’s momentum in Nigeria has been remarkable. The brand was recently honoured as the “Fastest Growing Auto Brand of the Year” at the 2024 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards in Lagos. This recognition highlights Jetour’s growing popularity, commitment to innovation, and customer satisfaction in the competitive Nigerian auto market.

True to its name—Jetour, meaning “convenient travel” in Chinese—the brand continues to make strides in Nigeria’s SUV and crossover market, offering models that merge advanced technology, comfort, and affordability for families and adventure-minded drivers alike.

Jetour also reassures buyers of comprehensive after-sales support, including access to genuine spare parts, technical assistance, and a five-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty, whichever comes first.

With the launch of the X70 Plug-in Hybrid, Jetour reinforces its role as a forward-thinking automaker championing green innovation in Nigeria. The model not only caters to the evolving needs of environmentally conscious drivers but also aligns with the country’s sustainability goals—bringing together performance, comfort, and responsibility in one bold design.
