Technology giant confirms London launch event amid expectations of new Galaxy foldables, AI-powered devices and next-generation wearables

Samsung Electronics has officially confirmed that it will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on 22 July 2026 in London, setting the stage for one of the technology industry’s most anticipated product launches of the year as competition in foldable smartphones and artificial intelligence continues to intensify.

The company announced the event under the theme “A New Shape Unfolds,” signalling another major expansion of its Galaxy ecosystem and reinforcing its ambition to maintain leadership in the premium foldable smartphone market.

While Samsung has not disclosed the products to be unveiled, industry analysts and multiple technology publications expect the event to feature the next generation of the company’s foldable smartphone portfolio, alongside new Galaxy smartwatches and expanded artificial intelligence capabilities.

Technology reports also suggest Samsung could introduce a broader foldable lineup than in previous years, reflecting growing consumer demand for different screen sizes and form factors as competition within the premium smartphone segment accelerates.

Several technology publications have published unofficial renders and specifications ahead of the launch, claiming the new devices could feature redesigned foldable displays, upgraded processors, enhanced cameras and improved battery performance. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed those specifications, and the company is expected to reveal full product details during the London event.

The launch is also expected to showcase the next phase of Galaxy AI, Samsung’s artificial intelligence platform, as the company deepens AI integration across its smartphone and connected device ecosystem.  Galaxy Unpacked has become Samsung’s flagship global launch platform, attracting worldwide attention from consumers, developers, technology analysts and industry partners as the company unveils its latest mobile innovations.

BrandiQ Insight

Samsung is no longer competing only in Smartphones The forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked event represents far more than another smartphone launch. It reflects the changing nature of competition within the global technology industry.

Manufacturers are no longer competing solely through device specifications such as camera quality, processing power or display resolution. Instead, they are competing through ecosystems. Smartphones are increasingly becoming the central hub connecting wearable devices, artificial intelligence services, cloud computing, productivity tools and smart home technologies. For Samsung, the foldable smartphone has evolved from an experimental product into a strategic platform for expanding that ecosystem.

Foldables Are Becoming a Strategic Battleground

The timing of the launch is significant. Competition within the premium smartphone market is entering a new phase as manufacturers invest heavily in foldable devices designed to combine the portability of smartphones with the productivity advantages of tablets.

Samsung has been one of the pioneers of this category, but competitors continue to narrow the technology gap. Maintaining leadership will increasingly depend on software integration, user experience and AI capabilities rather than hardware innovation alone.

Artificial Intelligence Will Define the Next Upgrade Cycle

Perhaps the most important expectation surrounding Galaxy Unpacked is not the hardware itself. It is Samsung’s continued integration of artificial intelligence across its consumer devices. The global smartphone industry is shifting from competing on specifications to competing on intelligence.

Consumers increasingly expect devices capable of understanding context, automating tasks, supporting creativity and enhancing productivity through AI-powered experiences. This transition is likely to shape purchasing decisions far more than incremental improvements in processors or camera systems.

What This Means for the Technology Industry

Samsung’s July event reinforces a broader industry trend. Technology companies are increasingly launching integrated product ecosystems rather than standalone devices. The future competitive advantage will belong to companies capable of delivering seamless interactions across smartphones, wearables, artificial intelligence services and connected digital environments.

Ultimately, Galaxy Unpacked 2026 will not simply reveal Samsung’s next generation of devices. It will provide another indication of how the world’s largest technology companies intend to compete in an era where artificial intelligence, connected ecosystems and premium user experiences are becoming the defining drivers of innovation.
