TAG Energy Nigeria Limited has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification, marking a major milestone in its operational growth and industry positioning.

According to a statement by the company, the certification, presented by Bureau Veritas, affirmed the company’s commitment to global standards in service delivery, safety, and quality across the upstream oil and gas sector.

Presenting the certificate, the District Chief Executive for Nigeria and Managing Director of Bureau Veritas, Mr Jean-Michel Perret, commended TAG Energy for its dedication to quality and urged the firm to sustain the standards.

Perret said, “ISO certification not only strengthens internal systems but also increases business opportunities because it is globally recognised as a mark of credibility. The certificate is truly worth it.”

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of TAG Energy, Mr Yemi Gbadamosi, said the certification reinforces the company’s dedication to safety and excellence in its operations, particularly within the high-risk oil and gas environment.

“The ISO certification means a whole lot to us as a player in the upstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Safety and quality are the bedrock of what our business is built on. It is important that we conduct ourselves in a safe manner and ensure that only the best quality of products and services are delivered to our customers at all times,” Gbadamosi said.

He revealed that the journey to certification spanned about two years of continuous internal and external audits, documentation reviews, and process evaluations.

He emphasised that TAG Energy is committed to sustaining and improving the standards that earned the certification.

“One of the main ethos of quality is continuous improvement. We have management and board commitment to maintain and even improve on the quality of our products and services. We have retained external auditors and employed internal auditors to ensure ongoing compliance across all areas of our business,” he added.

Gbadamosi also disclosed that the company plans significant expansion, including investments in oil fields within Nigeria and other African countries.

“In the next five years, our projection is to become an oil producer. We are currently exploring opportunities to acquire acreages and develop our own fields to support Nigeria’s drive to increase oil and gas production,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Assistant General Manager of TAG Energy Nigeria Limited, Mrs Peluola Adeniji, explained that the company’s quality journey began in 2015 when TAG Lines Nigeria Limited, a sister company, was certified under ISO 9001:2008 standards for supply chain management and manpower support services.

Since then, Adeniji said, the company has worked to “strengthen internal processes and procedures, enhance customer satisfaction and stakeholder confidence, and improve operational efficiency, risk management, and compliance.”

According to her, the certification process has led to measurable improvements, including stronger documentation and process consistency, enhanced workplace safety culture, and increased customer trust.
