JMG Limited, a provider of electro-mechanical solutions in Nigeria, has donated a 10-kilowatt solar power system to the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

The power system, which was unveiled on Wednesday, aims to provide the health centre with 24-hour electricity, according to the Group General Manager of JMG Limited, Rabi Jammal.

Speaking at the event, Jammal noted that the donation was part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility, which prioritises the health of Nigerians and the promotion of a greener environment.

“Healthcare reflects our belief that reliable power is a right, not a privilege, and it is essential to life and healthcare.

“This project reflects our commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. It renews our mission to light up lives and power communities,” Jammal said.

In her remarks, the Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Adetola Abubakar, disclosed that the solar power system would further enhance the capacity of the hospital in delivering quality healthcare to residents of the council.

Abubakar said, “What this donation translates to is that there shall be no more power outages during childbirth, especially if it is through C-section, to save the lives of our people, and no more malfunctioning of medical equipment.

“The solar power system will guarantee smooth and efficient running of medical equipment and gadgets, and the citizens of Agboyi-Ketu will continue to enjoy world-class medical services.”

While appreciating JMG for the donation, she stressed her administration’s commitment to ensuring that residents of the council enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, lauded the solar power system initiative, which he said reflected the vision of the state to transition to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

Wahab, who was represented by Dr Sanuth Hassan, urged private organisations to partner with the government in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people.

The Executive Director of JMG and President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Francis ]Meshioye, stressed that the organisation recognised the role of a healthier society in ensuring productivity, which informed the decision to donate the power system to the health centre.
