Marketing Executive Takes Charge of One of PepsiCo’s Most Strategic Consumer Markets
PepsiCo Foods has appointed Seren Cankiri as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for its United Kingdom and Ireland operations, placing the experienced marketing executive at the helm of one of the company’s most important and competitive markets.
Cankiri succeeds Fernando Kahane, who departed the company earlier this year, and assumes responsibility for driving marketing strategy across PepsiCo’s food portfolio in the UK and Ireland. His appointment follows a successful tenure as Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo Türkiye, where he played a key role in brand development, consumer engagement and business growth.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Cankiri will be tasked with ensuring that PepsiCo’s brands remain culturally relevant, commercially competitive and closely aligned with evolving consumer expectations.
Industry observers view the appointment as a reflection of PepsiCo’s confidence in experienced marketing leaders capable of translating consumer insights into business growth across diverse international markets.
Having joined PepsiCo nearly two decades ago, Cankiri has built a reputation as a consumer-focused and data-driven marketing leader, holding a series of increasingly senior positions across both the food and beverage categories. His career progression reflects PepsiCo’s long-standing emphasis on developing leadership talent from within its global organisation.
In his new role, he will oversee brand strategy, portfolio growth, innovation, consumer insights and marketing capability development across the UK and Ireland business. He is also expected to play a key role in strengthening brand equity and accelerating demand-led growth across PepsiCo’s food brands in the region.
The appointment comes at a time when the global food and beverage industry is navigating changing consumer preferences, increasing demand for healthier product options, digital transformation and heightened competition for consumer attention.
