Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has been ranked the fifth most creative player in the English Premier League this season by football statistics website, WhoScored.

With 23 chances created, Iwobi occupies the fifth position on the chart and is the only Fulham player.

Topping the chart is Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes (40), followed by Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai (28).

Arsenal’s Declan Rice is third with 27, while Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson sits above Iwobi with 25 chances created.

This season, the player has scored two goals plus two assists in 15 games this season.

The 29-year-old has been an important player for Fulham since joining the club from Everton for €25.7m two years ago.

In what was his best season in the EPL, he registered nine goals and six assists for the Cottagers last term.

Under the tutelage of coach Marco Silva, he has continued to improve and has become one of the leaders in the Fulham side.

Ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Iwobi is expected to be listed in coach Eric Chelle’s final squad.

He has 86 caps for Nigeria, scoring 10 goals and three assists.

According to FIFA’s directive, Iwobi and his Fulham teammates, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze are expected to be released for the tournament by Monday December 15.

Nigeria will compete in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania.

The Eagles’ camp is scheduled to open on Wednesday, December 10, in Egypt with an unofficial pre-tournament friendly also booked with the Pharaohs for December 16.

The Super Eagles begin their campaign on December 23, 2025, against Tanzania at the Complexe Sportif de Fès in Fès, while Tunisia face Uganda the same day at the Stade Annexe of Prince Moulay in Rabat.
