This December, Amstel Malta ignited the spirit of Christmas across Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Aba, using light, creativity, and community celebration to transform public spaces into radiant festive destinations. For thousands of residents, visitors, and returning families, the three-city street light-up became the emotional opening ceremony of the 2025 holiday season.

Held from December 2nd to 4th, the lighting ceremonies marked the official start of Amstel Malta’s festive campaign themed “Be Your Best All Season Long.” Anchored on Nigerian Breweries’ nationwide Legendary Christmas initiative, the activation celebrated homecoming, unity, gratitude, and the joy of togetherness – values at the core of the brand’s identity.

Why This Christmas Activation Matters for Brand Experience

For Amstel Malta, the campaign extends beyond illumination. It is a strategic brand experience that brings the product’s core emotional promise—nourishing your best self—to life in real communities.

Sarah Agha, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, explained the philosophy behind the multi-city celebration: “The reason we are here today is rooted in the purpose of our company – to brew the joy of true togetherness. That is what we care about most.”

She noted that Christmas holds a profound place in Nigerian culture: “December is not just a date on the calendar; it is a time when distance no longer matters, when families come home to reconnect, share meals, settle differences, and celebrate as one.”

Agha emphasized that lighting up cities symbolized Nigerian Breweries’ longstanding presence and credibility in communities nationwide. “We are a company committed to spreading joy… and we are a company that has the credibility to do this because our footprint spans across Nigeria.”

She thanked consumers for their support: “We want to thank you for showing up, for choosing Amstel Malta, for supporting us through the years, and for embracing a brand that inspires Nigerians to be the best version of themselves.”

Cities Celebrate as Lights Come Alive

In all three cities, the street light-up drew dignitaries, cultural leaders, government representatives, residents, and families, who praised the initiative for enriching urban spaces and strengthening communal ties. Stan Nze and Natacha Akide (Tacha) added celebrity glamour to the celebrations, joining consumers who turned the installations into vibrant social moments and photo hotspots.

The crown jewel of this year’s celebrations is the first-ever Amstel Malta Festiville, billed to take place in Aba from December 23 to 27. Designed as a full-scale Christmas village, Festiville is set to immerse visitors in music, art, food, entertainment, culture, and curated holiday experiences.

The experience will feature: Amstel Malta Grotto, A soulful Christmas Carol Night, Kids’ Playground & Games Arena, Interactive installations, Family-friendly zones, Live entertainment and performances. Festiville aims to capture the warmth of the season and create an inclusive space where families can reconnect, play, celebrate, and build lasting memories.

Beyond the street light-up and Festiville, Amstel Malta will also headline the Lagos Food Fest at Muri Okunola Park on December 14, 2025, giving Lagos residents another opportunity to experience the brand’s Christmas activation.

A Season of Joy, Light, and Connection

As the lights continue to glow across the festive season, Amstel Malta invites families and returning loved ones to enjoy the installations, celebrate communal values, and embrace the joy of homecoming.

To amplify participation, consumers are encouraged to share selfies, group photos, or videos taken at any of the installations and tag @amstelmalta using #LegendaryChristmasNB for a chance to win Christmas prizes and surprises.

A New Benchmark for Festive Brand Activation

With the three-city glow-up and the launch of Festiville, Amstel Malta has set a new benchmark for holiday brand experiences in Nigeria, blending culture, emotion, community connection, and experiential marketing at scale.
